Meet Saquita
My name is Saquita Acree, and if you know the meaning of my name, you’ll understand a lot about who I am.
Saquita is often associated with being blessed, having a strong personality, and carrying a spirit of thankfulness and gratitude. Looking back over my life, I can’t help but smile because my father was really on to something when he gave me that name. I had been living its meaning long before I ever understood it.
Giving has always been part of who I am. I give even when I don’t have. I give more than I probably should because serving and caring for others have always come naturally to me.
Life has also taught me how to stand strong. No matter what I’m facing, I choose to keep my faith, keep my smile, and keep moving forward. My personality is one of my greatest strengths—and sometimes my greatest weakness—because when I care about people, I care deeply.
Above all, I choose gratitude.
Thankful doesn’t begin to express how I feel about the life God has given me. Every season, whether joyful or challenging, has shaped the woman I am today. That’s simply how God created me, and I truly believe I’ve spent my life growing into the name my father gave me.
Long Before Graceful Gatherings
My creative journey began in the world of interior design, where I discovered my love for transforming spaces and seeing how the right details could completely change the way a room felt.
That creativity eventually led me behind the camera. For more than twenty years, photography allowed me to capture some of life’s most unforgettable moments. But somewhere along the way, something kept happening.
I wasn’t just taking the pictures.
I was helping plan the celebrations.
I became the person family and friends called when it was time to bring everybody together. And I loved it—the laughter, the conversations, the hugs, the personalities, the little moments people didn’t realize I was watching, and of course, the photographs that told the story long after everyone went home.
Time after time, I heard the same thing:
“You should be doing this full-time.”
Eventually, I listened.
By faith and by God’s grace, Graceful Gatherings Event Services LLC was born.
And when I look at it today, I realize Graceful Gatherings is really a collection of so many pieces of my life. My eye for design. My years behind the camera. My love for bringing people together. My instinct to take care of people. My belief in family. And yes, that strong personality my name warned everybody about!
Graceful Gatherings gave all of those pieces a home.
This business is deeply personal to me because people are personal to me. I love seeing families together. I love hearing the laughter in a room. I love watching people celebrate accomplishments, new beginnings, love, life, family, and milestones they worked hard to reach.
And somewhere between the planning, the phone calls, the timelines, the details, and the celebration itself, something special happens.
My clients stop feeling like names on a contract.
They become my Graceful Couples. My Graceful Clients. My Graceful Gatherings family.
That is the part of this journey I treasure most.
Because long before Graceful Gatherings became a business, bringing people together and caring for them was simply who I was.
Now, I just get the blessing of calling it my work.
